He rose upright in the stirrups; he scarce could reach her hand,
But she loosened her hair i' the casement! His face burnt like a brand As the black cascade of perfume came tumbling over his breast; And he kissed its waves in the moonlight, (Oh, sweet, black waves in the moonlight!) Then he tugged at his rein in the moonlight, and galloped away to the West. - The Highwayman, Alfred Noyes This has been one of my favourite poems ever since I studied it way back in Junior school, and I've always had a special place in my heart for the love story of the Highwayman and his tragically brave sweetheart Bess~ I'm trying to brush up on my digital skills at the moment, so this is all Photoshop and tablet work 8D I got so distracted trying to do everything, though, that I totally forgot to give the Highwayman his pistols and rapier DD: Hopefully Bess's uber hair makes up for the lack of jewelled twinkling, though -_____-" (Seriously - give that description of how he can't even reach her standing up in a saddle on horseback enough thought, and you suddenly realise just how much hair that girl must have had XDD I love how he blushes when he kisses it, though~!!! Also - apologies for the horse lump at the bottom, there) Comments

-- "And then the chorus comes in, and nobody knows why except Mozart and he's dead." *** Haha - that's ok XD Hot man is hot - he's the Highwayman, for heaven's sake! He wears thigh-high boots!!!
I'm happy you like the background - I suck at them, and I needed Fez's advice so much for how to do this one DD: But hopefully I'll be a little better at it for next time because of that XD -- "And then the chorus comes in, and nobody knows why except Mozart and he's dead." *** |
